Horses have always been my passion. I always dreamed of owning my very own horse.  My grandparents had neighbors with a huge, leopard appaloosa that I would sneak handfuls of grass to.  I was mesmerized by his beauty, movement, the sounds he made, everything about him screamed freedom and grace.  I was stricken.  I found out from my parents that when I was born we lived in a small house in the country where my older brother had a pony.  I asked if they ever sat me on him.  They said yes, so I can say I've been around horses since I was born!  We moved when I was 6 months old to a neighborhood that so happened to have a horse show grounds at the end of it.  A very unlikely location, but to my benefit.   I remember sheepishly asking show people if I could pet their horse at every event that I could get to.  Some were happy to oblige, others were a bit snooty.  I swore then that if I ever was lucky enough to have my own horse, I would welcome anyone who would ask to pet my pony.  Well, by the time I was twelve and badgered my parents to death, I finally owned my very own pony.  Since then I have owned or leased over 50 and have learned so much about them.  That very same horseshow grounds is where I made my first dollar photographing animals, over 25 years ago.

I have learned what angle to shoot, how to get feet placed, ears up, attention without frightening, breed specific attributes, how to show off qualities downplay imperfections, grooming, lighting, etc.  Anyone can take a snapshot of a horse.  It takes a professional to make that horse look like a million bucks.  That is what I strive to do with every backyard pony to grand prix eventer.

Farm Calls

Call today to set up an appointment for a special session at your barn or boarding stable. Prices are based on distance and number of horses/subjects photographed. Please allow a minimum of one hour for your session in either early morning or late afternoon when the lighting outdoors is just right.  Please already have your horse groomed, and if a person will be photographed with the horse, dressed and ready to go. Also, since I don't work with an assistant, any extra hands to help with posing or handling the animal will make the session go much smoother.   Please call for a free consultation on the best location, proper attire, tack, and any special requests that you may have. We will gladly set up a whole day for any boarders or show clients that you would like to offer this special service to.  Farm calls start at $50.00 within a 20 mile radius of Sharpsburg, GA.
